Celebrating Women & Mothers at Home

Join me in celebrating women, mothers and all home makers this month, everyday and especially on Mother’s Day!

All of us know but sometimes we forget to recognize the important work that women do inside the home.

Not only do women make up half of the Canadian work force but they also contribute significantly to home life. From meal planning, prep and cooking, to all that comes in between women are at the fore front of getting it done!

Canadian women often manage many household duties such as keeping our humble abode clean, tidy and presentable. But it’s all the extra’s that are truly remarkable.

The time they take to create show-stopping front approaches (which we call curb appeal in the business).

The time they take to decorate our rooms, livening up our living spaces with just that perfect piece.

The time they take to purchase and display those cozy throws and pillows so that we can enjoy the feeling of comfort while home.

The time they spend in our favourite room where delectable creations are put out at regular, reliable intervals.

The time they spent in the backyard getting set up for family night so that we could have FFT – Forced Family Time.

Join us in taking time to recognizing women’s achievement in home, outside the home and around the world. No one contributes to home more than women and mothers so hat’s off to you ladies!

Though we may not be able to travel far right now, here are a few creative and fun ‘staycation’ ideas to celebrate the women & mothers in our lives. Everyone in the family can enjoy!

Family Picnic – Pack your favourite lunch and grab a blanket to spend some quality time at your local park or the comfort of your own backyard.

Camping – The South Okanagan has an abundance of campsites. We do live in one of the most beautiful places in Canada, after all. Some local favourites include The Lost Moose in Penticton, Crump Recreational Site in Summerland, and Haynes Point in Osoyoos.

Backyard Movie Night – All you need is a sheet, projector, a speaker and you’re all set! Outdoor movie nights are cozy and fun experience for the whole family.

Stargazing Night – A magical experience that can be done at a local stargazing spot or in your own garden. Memories are perhaps the best of gift of all.

There are unlimited staycation ideas to explore in our own backyard!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Mother’s Day, a Happy Victoria Day and wonderful month of May!
